looks like a real one

a real cardigan that is!graphite cardi

Amazed myself that I made this & chuffed to bits with the result.

The yarn (Madeline Tosh Merino Light in Onyx) is beautiful & so so soft and  the pattern (Ochre – Okrankeltainen jakku by Veera Valimaki) was a joy to knit, with lovely little details in the eyelets & sleeve gathers.

Pattern recommends adding a hook & eye fastening but I skipped adding that preferring to use a brooch should  I want to wear it wrapped across.

Though I like the drapey open look too.graphite cardi openI was super nervous when it came to blocking the finished piece but found a good tutorial here & can’t express how grateful I was to my gifted blocking wires (thanks Fi! x). Blocking truly  is a bit of a magical process.

One all round happy knitter here!

Yarn & pattern details over on Ravelry.

It looks great. I would have guessed you’d bought it. I like both the drapey look and the pinned look – the big brooch adds a bit of pazazz.
