Stripey, patterny socks

by Nova on April 28, 2014

An autumnal nip in the air means it must almost  be sock wearing time! Yay!

I finished this pair in the midst of summer & I have to say that self patterning yarn has got to be the most fun ever to knit with!

The yarn was a gift from a friends de-stash & a chance to practice sock knitting after I was almost traumatised by my first pair! I tried a different heel technique this time & it worked like a charm – the fish kiss lips heel. Weird name but great results & a perfect fit as promised in the pattern.

Very nice :) I’m not sure I want to imagine what fish lips heels are though… ;)

Oh, don’t you just love self striping yarn? Your socks turned out lovely!

They look great. I hope to one day make myself a pair of socks. Maybe even this year.
