a garden of butterflies

I shared a sneak peek of the i n c r e d i b l e quilting  by my friend Kellie on this one a couple of days ago & until I collected it later that same day that was as much as I had seen too!

You can imagine my squeals of delight at seeing it in the flesh! Kellie outdid  herself  I tell you. She has given my Liberty butterflies a garden full of daisies to flutter around in.

I speed bound it over the last couple of evenings by the fire so  I could get it finished quick sticks & in use. So in love.

I decided upon rounded corners so bias was the order of the day of course & yes, it is 2 different greens – didn’t have quite enough of either to make it all the way around but I love the make-do-ness & scrappiness of  the result.

It is so hard to get photos of the awesome quilting & the following don’t do it justice at all but hopefully will give you a taster of the quilted garden…

From the ground up, stems & leaves become a garden bursting with daisies…
