… about blogging is the people you meet.
I have really gotten to know Krista over the past couple of years & she is a gem - so imagine how thrilled I was when her name came out the hat for a random swappy poo. In exchange for a pillow & a little extra I received a wonderful package of stitchy goodness in true Poppy Print style! Check it ALL out! A fabulous project pouch & super duper cute covered tape measure, some poppy printed fabric + scrummy linens & one of Krista’s famous thread catchers in fabulous map fabric!
[& as if I wasn't spoilt enough with all those goodies, that cute little machine in the first pic was recently hand delivered by some vip house guests...more on all that later!]
I LOVE it all Krista & they have all been put to use already! Thank you so much for being an awesome swap partner xxx
& as if connecting with new friends via the interweb isn’t fantastic enough, this past weekend I had my first bloggy date! The lovely Jules, whom I was in a bee with last year was visiting friends in Brissie & drove up the coast for a cuppa & a catch up. Jules is one of those girls you adore instantly & I felt like we had known each other for yonks. Well I guess we have in a way! She had her sweet bub Violet with her and it was so lovely to see a quilt that Michelle had secretly organized for Jules & I had contributed some blocks to. The afternoon went way too quickly & all too soon it was time to go - I felt like we could of chatted for hours!
I love the internet & the adventures & friends it brings.

Funny, I just wrote about my bloggy meet ups of last week too! It certainly is nice to make ‘real life’ friends through the blog.
The online sewing/quilting/crafting community is amazing… I’ve made a few friends myself but I really enjoy seeing what everyone creates and their different takes on things.
What wonderful treats! I enjoy reading Krista’s blog. She’s so talented! (Like you. :-)
What a great swap! Love the little thread catcher. And I have a sewing machine just like that (maybe – Singer 99K?) that my mom bought before I was born. It is still a champ and runs great. It’s still my go-to machine for things like curtains and upholstery. So fun to hear about your bloggy meet-up. All the best!
I love interweb dating when people don’t turn out to be wierdy-beardy serial killers!
Hear, hear on meeting wonderful, supportive sewing friends online! So glad you had a great swap and a fun meet-up!
Ditto to all that, Nova. What a special swap. Thank you so very much! I love seeing action shots of stuff I’ve made in other people’s homes – that’s what it’s all about!
Hadley’s comment made me laugh. Luckily, no serial killers yet and I’ve been lucky enough to have a couple of internet dates with quilt bloggers. It can be nerve-wracking but presents help to break the ice!
